Mackenzie lives with psychological disabilities. As she grew older, her challenges became increasingly overwhelming, making it difficult for her to leave the house, connect with others, and experience the world around her.

We tried so many ways to help her cope, therapy, medication, and other forms of support. We wanted to find something that would help her feel more confident and connected to the world around her.

Then Benny came into her life.

When he curled up in her lap that first day, Mackenzie smiled for the first time in almost a year. From that moment, things began to change.

With Benny by her side, Mackenzie started taking steps back into the world. She began leaving the house, talking to others, and reconnecting with life.

Finding financial assistance for Benny’s training was a long and difficult journey. After more than a year of searching, we finally found the support we needed. Today, Benny continues his training to become Mackenzie’s official service dog.

Benny’s journey inspired us to start PAWS Foundation of the Lehigh Valley, so we can help others find their "Benny". 

Because sometimes, hope and healing comes on four paws. 🐾
